"One More Night"
From the CD "Keep on Rockin'"
ONE MORE NIGHT, is a powerful, sentimental Rock Ballad that comes right from the heart. It’s about losing someone you love dearly when you’re not ready to let go and the only thing you can do is ask God to give you one more night.
Carl snuck ONE MORE NIGHT into his piano solo during an M&R Rush concert one night and it ended up staying in the live set for years!
ONE MORE NIGHT starts out simply with piano then vocals and gradually adds violins to the mix. Since it’s technically a Rock Power Ballad, Marty brings the drums in with a dramatic build that powers the song into the chorus, where the heavy power chords of the guitars come in. Then the musical twist happens. You’re expecting a soaring guitar solo, but instead you hear an inspired classical piano solo which lifts the song to the next level before the last heavy, anthemic chorus comes in.
Carl played ONE MORE NIGHT for his wife the very first time they met. She didn’t know that he played the piano or that he was the keyboard player in M&R Rush or that he wrote the song. Years later she confessed to him “It’s because of that DAMN SONG that I could never forget you!”
LYRICS
The roller coaster ride that we’ve been on
Is slowly comin to an end
And though we said we’d try
Our passion runs too deep to just be friends
Cause every time that you’re with me
My feelings get the best of me
I don’t ever want to say good bye
And holding you so close to me
Brings back all those memories
Of the times when you said you were mine
Chorus
One more night -Please give me
One more night
I wanna hold on hold on forever and never let you go
I wanna hold on hold on forever and never let you go
Lead
Repeat Chorus
