“Loved by You” is a melodic love song that shows a little different side of M&R Rush -the softer side.  Paul wrote this song for his wife Kim. The tune was inspired by being on the road missing home and the company of his wife. 

As Paul was writing the lyrics he heard it being sung as a duet with a female voice and needed the right female voice to compliment the song.  Keeping it in the M&R Rush Family, Paul asked John’s daughter, Kristen McFarland, to sing and she knocked it out of the park! Her voice was the perfect accompaniment to his.  Paul said “The addition of Kristen’s vocal, brought the song to a whole new level.”

Kristen is a singer /songwriter who began her professional career at an early age singing with the children's chorus for the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She continued her journey studying music at Belmont University in Nashville and performing at local coffee houses. She has made guest appearances on stage with M&R Rush but this is the first time she has added her voice to one of the band’s recordings.

Paul asks that you listen to the song at least twice….the first time for the lyrics and again for the music. Paul thanks John for coming up with the catchy guitar lick throughout, Carl for the bass line (which Roger plays perfectly), and for suggesting the Mandolin, which is played by Paul’s good friend, Kurt Bonomo. Kurt’s wife Deedee also sings back up on the tune. Carl also adds cello and violins to the piece.
