"Reckless Love"

FROM THE CD "BETWEEN THE LINES"

"Reckless Love" is a rockin' guitar-driven pop-rock anthem written by Jim Peterik and given to M&R Rush to record - feeling they would do justice to his creation. Jim is the founder of the rock band Survivor, vocalist and guitarist in The Ides of March, and co-writer of the anthem "Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film Rocky III. With soaring vocals and catchy hooks this song carries the torch of great Classic American Rock bands of the 70's and 80's on up to today.

“Reckless Love” has a unique background in how it came into fruition and into the hands of M&R Rush to record. A good friend of the band, Frank Pappalardo who does live sound for Jim Peterik and The Ides of March, heard the unreleased demo of the song from Jim Peterik and said to Jim  “A band I am doing live sound for, M&R Rush, would do a great version of this song”  Jim said “I know those guys - give it to them to record” and they took it and ran with it.   Frank produced it for them, which is unique because they usually produce all of their music in house.  John does a great job on the lead vocal.

The band sent Jim a copy of their version of Jim’s creation and here is a quote from Jim Peterik after hearing the M&R Rush version of his tune: "That so rocks you guys. So proud of you guys. Thank you for rescuing this gem from my past. It sounds amazing! What can I say...Make it a hit you guys!”

Lyrics

HEY HEY
You could use a little action, I could use a little love
Cause I just got paid and I wanna get saved, and I need someone to help me celebrate, celebrate

I can almost feel your heart beat - from clear across the room
They say your wild, just a troubled child, I’m just the man, to take you for a ride
I don’t give a damn about the rules of the road, I’ve got an engine that’s about to explode

Reckless Love, In a reckless world
Reckless boy and a reckless girl
Crash and burn if it's push and shove
Feels like… Reckless Love

I don’t know which way I’m drivin, when my heart’s behind the wheel
But it feels so good, and it’s understood, you can’t get lost, in this neighborhood
I don’t give a damn about the rules of the road, I’ve got an engine that’s about to explode

Reckless Love, In a reckless world
Reckless boy and a reckless girl
Crash and burn if it's push and shove
Feels like… Reckless Love

I’m the one they said would break your heart, I’m the one to prove them right
I’m the one your momma warned you about, yea, yea

You could use a little action, I could use a little love
Cause I just got paid and I wanna get saved, and I need someone to help me celebrate

Reckless Love, In a reckless world
Reckless boy and a reckless girl
Crash and burn if it's push and shove
Feels like… Reckless Love

Reckless Love, In a reckless world
Reckless boy and a reckless girl
Crash and burn if it's push and shove
Feels like…

Reckless Love, In a reckless world
Reckless boy and a reckless girl
Crash and burn if it's push and shove
Feels like…

Reckless Love, Na, Na, Na,
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na
Na, Na, Na, Na, Na,
Feels like… Reckless Love
